 MY VALENTINE

How long ago was it, my Love,
That we exchanged vows of covenant,
Promising to love until death should us part,
Only to find that our time was short
And you would have to go away and take my heart.

We had a glimpse of Heaven here,
Walking side by side.
The world was ours, each day was new.
I didn’t know that I would have to find a different path,
And walk apart from you.

My Love, just having known you
Was worth the pain of saying goodbye.
The ache and emptiness linger there.
Life is an arduous road now
Without your presence here.

The flowers that once grew on the roadside,
Have now become stubble and dry____
I will walk that way just to get where you are
And the step will go to a feverous high
Because once again I will be with you,
Valentine, there will be no more goodbyes.

My Valentine

As each year comes rolling around
I think of our life as a sweet dream
So beautiful are all these thoughts
I am so happy we fit in lifes scheme

Beauty I saw the first time we met
Time has not diminished one thing
My happiness came in abundance
When on your finger I placed a ring

Today I see that sparkle is still there
One that has so captivated my heart
With these feelings of genuine love
From this heart they will never part

There is much happiness in our union
Knowing you are a lady that is so fine
These years have all been great ones
Janet will ever be my lovely valentine

A VALENTINE OF LOVE

You may receive a lovely card,
From those who love you so,
Orperhaps a box of sweet chocolates,
Wrapped all up with a big bow.

Now I remember several years agog
When the children were in school,
They gave me pretty Valentines,
Made with papers ribbon and glue.

There was always a message written inside,
With little scribblings that were so true,
How they loved me with all their hearts,
And Valentines that read, “ I Love you “.

You can search for the prettiest Valentines,
And spend lots of money and time,
But I’ll treasure the children’s hand~ made cards,
Written by hand, made with love- a special Valentine
