One Minute of Wisdom In the depth of winter, I finally learned there laid within me An invisible summer! God has given us memory, That we might have roses in December! Don’t agonize, organize! Think something good... now share it! Mary Woodward Orrville, OH                                    SEASON OF WINTER The season of wintertime, At our old home place When the snow was falling, Giving us a happy face. We loved to sit by the fire, And watch the burning log. Drinking our sweet chocolate, With a blanket for our dog. Often we dream of springtime, When the snow came our way. Its time to enjoy Gods blessing, Through the night and the day We all loved the old wooden sled, And we would fill it very high. This was our time for playing, As the snow came from the sky. This was the season of winter, A time to enjoy the good life. God gave us the blessing of winter A lovely snow falling in the night. Nancy Mineer South Shore, KY   It Is Winter Cold icy fingers of winter surround us A heavy pack of snow is on the ground A bright Sun doesn't make a difference Relief from frigid weather can't be found Snow can be seen on the Pine branches With this sub zero air that we have today It would seem like it will stay here a while No forcast for warm weather to take it away To us older seniors it don't seem that bad Because we stay home where there is heat Not like we did it those years so long ago When days of ice skating were hard to beat They say the Groundhog saw his shadow I wonder what that has to do with anything Let's let that critter sleep until it is warmer Then he can show us all when it is Spring Acie Workman Eden Park
