November Skies-Forever

Dark green pines against azure skies
Give perfect backdrop for trees
Of magenta, gold and brown.
Looking into the depth
Of that cloudless sky I realize,
I am seeing forever.

My mind cannot perceive
What must lie beyond my view.
Is it what we think of as Heaven,
Somewhere beyond our mortal sight,
Or do the depths
become a never-ending night?

I wish I could convey what my soul feels,
As I gaze at such a serene and beautiful
Canvas created by the Master Artist Himself.
I am not sure any man can fully describe

The perfect picture before him,
It is locked into his soul
where only he can appreciate
what it means to him.

All tangible trappings of this earth
Cannot bring the quiet thrill and appreciation
Of what lies before me. . .
There is only one who shares
My never ending love
For that sky I call Forever.

Memories of Yesterday

I remember the church hayrides
With the children long ago,
Jumping in piles of leaves
Was their fun,
And sleigh riding in the snow.

Neighborhood children would gather
On our big porch and swing,
Church was a happy time
To get together and sing.

Those were days of happiness
With the children at home,
Today I see them often
I don’t really have to be alone.

Great and grand children are precious
Adding up as more
I love each and every one of them
No matter how high the score.

Those days are gone forever
But the memories for them and I
Linger on.
Times that can’t be erased from the heart
From me, my daughter or son.

Just Be!

To nourish the soul is to rest in it’s being,
There is nothing to do but. . .
Be!
Our greatest peace comes from our being!
Cherish ‘Hope’, it adds
Buoyancy to the spirit;
Lightness to the day.
Beware of the ‘Peace Stealers”
In your life.
Stay calm and you will
Reap a harvest of goodness;
Fill your world, your life,
With objects that are meaningful
To you!
Do choose objects and colors
That make your
Heart smile!
