A New Year Wish
On this cold and frosty morning
A crispness is felt in the clear air
With Christmas now a memory
We look forward to the New Year
Many events happened in 2005
Some were good some were bad
Hurricanes raked the Gulf Coast
It was the worst season they had
Both of my knees were replaced
All of the PT is done and through
Although they are still a little stiff
I guess it must be they are new
A tragedy beset us in this year
My little buddy was called away
It is with reverence I think of her
She spends time with God today
May your year have been good
Even better in the coming Year
With all your hopes and wishes
For the future all come to bear

A New Beginning
Another year has come and gone,
And what do I have to show?
I pause to reflect and wonder—
“Oh where does the fleeting time go?”
The passing years are now history,
I cannot recapture those days.
Do I dwell on the past—or the future?
Is my life but an obscure haze?
The years roll by—one by one,
A time I can ne’er reclaim.
God has given me abundant talents
Which glorify and exalt His name.
Have I done my very best, I muse,
Shown charity toward my fellow man;
Have I used these God-given talents
To do the best that I can?
“Do unto others,” says the Golden Rule,
“As you’d have them do unto you.”
A simple rule to live by…
Day by day…the whole year through.

The Year of 2006
A new year with new hopes and dreams,
This can be the time of planning the new,
To paint the rooms in soft warm colors,
And curtains to match the rugs of blue.
The sewing room is full of new material,
Leaving the work to the light of the moon,
There should be plenty of new big pillows,
To give the new look to the old bedroom.
Most of the clothes should be given away,
To those that are in special care of others,
Its time for the older dresses so special,
They can be worn in warm of the seasons.
The spring is planned in the wintertime,
How many new plants that is so dear,
In March the forsythia bush will be yellow,
It is the beginning of a brand new year.
The white paint will brighten the front porch,
That needed the paint so many years ago,
We can enjoy the time of work and the paint,
In the year of 2006 in Gods time that we know.
