Tanka is the name of an ancient form
of Japanese poetry. The
poem is always 5 lines and is written in the form of 5-7-5 syllables
in the first three lines like the haiku and 7 syllables in the last
two lines. The tanka was one of the first forms of Japanese
poetry and is even older than the haiku.

nodding to the sun

The Joy of Easter
It was an early lovely morning,
When the sun was shining bright.
This was the first special Easter.
Jesus gave the people a new life.
Jesus had risen from the dead,
Mary gave the message with joy.
The disciples were happy to see Him,
Jesus the savior of all the world.
Jesus spent time with His people,
And commissioned them to work for Him,
They were to preached the plan of Salvation
A time for all people to be free from sin.
He ascended to His Father in Heaven
And said that He would come back again.
To receive us in His Heavenly place.
We can all be together with Him.
What a glorious time for all the Christians,
When we will see Him face to face.
We have our hope and looking for Him.
We will thank Him for His mercy and grace.

We Have Been Told
I am walking on that sunny side of life
With joy in my step I look on up ahead
Facing this uncertain time we now live
I look forward without any fear or dread
Knowing He is walking in step with me
Brings a gladness within my very soul
For I know my Savior has blessed me
With Him I now find my heart is whole
Great was the day when I first met Him
I still can remember my feeling that day
Excitement flowed throughout my body
I knew He would lead me the right way
On a sweet tomorrow, Heaven I will see
This land richer than all our Earthly gold
So much beauty will our eyes there see
To us all these wonders have been told
