A Year Goes By

As 2006 fades into a past memory
We try to sort the good from the bad
Was it a year that brought happiness
Hopefully it was best year you ever had

Did you achieve those goals you set
Or did they become lost day by day
Thinking tomorrow I'll catch them up
Only to find you let them get away

Is this year a time you want to relive
Or one you want to see pass on by
Did some hopes and dreams arrive
While you let others whither and die

Will 2007 bring a different direction
One that’s filled with great adulation
Give you all the things you hope for
A year to exceed all your expectation

Tips To Face 07

In this instant world,
We often want microwave solutions
To crock-pot problems.

Take a chance.
Embrace the vision
In ’07. . . Celebrate life!

I  will write myself into well-being!
With pencil and paper. .
I will revise the world!
Writing forces consciousness!

Cherish your favorite space.
As:    Library, teashop, church,
Your den or bedroom.
Commit yourself to being
A “hope bringer”!

Find a path of spiritual growth,
Your body will soon begin
To use everything that happens
As a vehicle for healing.
Trust yourself and “Listen”!
Your body is a barometer
For your goal.

Are you saying?
The problem is,
The government has taken prayer
Out of the schools.
That’s no problem!
They haven’t taken you out,
And if you are there,
Prayer is there,
And God is there.

I Tried!

For twenty years I complained to wife
About each gloomy day of life
But she rebuked me and would say,
“Why, I think this is a lovely day!”

For twenty years and a little more
We traveled through places I did abhor.
But she smiled and spoke as we passed though,
“This place is fine, don’t you think so, too?”

On doubts and fears, she has heard my voice
When she did naught but plain rejoice.
I thought to myself, “just why compete?”
I’ll have to join her, I know I’m beat!

So should there be another twenty years
And many of those be filled with tears,
I’m sure that I must learn to say,
“My isn’t this a lovely day?”

If I should travel for twenty more,
The same old routes I traveled before
I think that she shall hear from me,
“My, isn’t this a lovely place to be?”
