Autumn Falling

Bright leaves breaking
From the limb
As if acting
On a whim.

Acorns bounding
from the oak
like young bullocks
from a yoke.

Ripe persimmons
Go kerplop
When the frost
And mercury drop.

Chestnut kernels
Split the burr
For a waiting
Him or her.

Every object
Knows the calling
And joins in
The autumn falling.

Spooky Winds (Triolet)

The leaves now dance and rattle
On the Eve of Halloween.
Too dry and old for winter’s battle,
The poplar leaves now dance and rattle.
The spooky just tease and tattle;
In vain they try to change the scene.
The poplar leaves now dance and rattle
On the Eve of Halloween.

Neath fullness of harvest moon
Meows trick or treat

Cinquain

Down down
Come the old leaves
Never to be back on
Until another spring again
Is here
