One Small Book

When pressures of the day creep in
And I feel all alone,
There’s always comfort by my side
In this small book I own.

Just one small book can give me all
The answers to my care,
When doubt and fear come to my mind
I find my solace there.

Volumes I will never need
To guide me on my way,
Just one small book and what it says
Will change my night to day.

No need for high adventure,
Or castles in the air,
Just one small book can give me
The answers to my prayer.

I ask the Heavenly Father
To guide with unseen hands
To open up the pages
So I can understand.

What promises He offered
To those who follow through,
It’s all right there in black and white,
It’s there for me and you.

Just one small book is all you need
The only one reliable,
The one small book I have in mind
Is called the Holy Bible.

Creator God

God:
Melts before firming
Breaks before healing
Uses small people to do big things
Turns fleshly fear into spiritual courage
Turns fleshly courage into Godly fear
Turns sobs into songs
Makes dreams become realities
Uses garbage to grow fruit
Makes one seed into an uncountable harvest
Makes loneliness a gift
Never wastes the wastelands of the past
Makes death, life
Turns human ends into spiritual beginnings
Turns human rejection into Heavenly affection
Ties loose ends into strong love bonds.

HANDS OF AN AWESOME GOD

Your gentle hands have smoothed
my windblown hair,
wiped tears of pain
from my flushed cheek.

You gently wrapped Your loving arms
around my lonely body
and made me feel secure again,
clasped my hand
strong and tight,
on adventures up high hills
and in the valley,
soothed me in times of great distress.

The greatest truth
my heart has ever known,
is that I will never lose the touch
of Your strong, yet gentle,
Hands.
