Post Thanksgiving
Now that Thanksgiving is over and done
All of our company has all left and gone
Leftovers will fill our plates for a few days
Forget the rigid diet that we were once on
But the joy of having the nice people visit
Fills my heart with joy and causes a smile
Knowing that we will see them at Christmas
Which we will be seeing in just a little while
I find their visiting lifts my heart with comfort
Good friends together sure makes your day
When we sat down at that food filled table
Eating too much knowing later we would pay
Isn't this what the Holiday season is about
To share the friendship we know and love
May your season be filled with happiness
Christmas is named for the Man up above

Holidays Of Past Times
I often think about those Holidays of long past
Of times when we indeed had peace on Earth
Wonder why so many values have gone astray
Looking for ethical men, to find they are dearth
If only we could go back to that time we knew
Glad tidings were then said and truly meant
Today it seems money has become the King
We all wonder where "Merry Christmas" went
Is Thanksgiving merely a day we take off work
To gorge our selves until we are as full as can be
I remember when it meant giving God our thanks
Being happy with all things He had given to thee
Times change sometimes I know not for the best
Ideas today seem not to come from in the heart
Forgotten are the ideals that started our country
Showing the Ten Commandments would be a start
