He's Alive

On a rocky mount called Golgotha
Our Savior was crucified.
In agony and pain He took our sins
To the Cross where He bled and died.

Between two thieves He bore our sins
While His Mother wept and mourned.
Nails impaled His tortured hands,
In pain He was mocked and scorned.

A crown of thorns pierced His brow,
In shame He was crucified.
"It is finished", He cried in agony,
Then gave up the ghost-- and died.

His garment, a rumpled scarlet cloth
Lay heaped at the foot of the cross.
Mockers in jest cast lots for it
While the disciples suffered His loss.

Three days He lay in a cold dark tomb
Where His followers mourned and prayed.
A huge stone covered the burial place
Where His lifeless body was laid.

But death can't hold the Son of God;
No grave can be His prison.
"He's Alive, He's Alive", the cry resounds,
"Our Savior lives ... for He is risen."

The Joy of Easter

It was an early lovely morning,
When the sun was shining bright.
This was the first special Easter.
Jesus gave the people a new life.

Jesus had risen from the dead,
Mary gave the message with joy.
The disciples were happy to see Him,
Jesus the savior of all the world.

Jesus spent time with His people,
And commissioned them to work for Him,
They were to preach the plan of Salvation
A time for all people to be free from sin.

He ascended to His Father in Heaven
And said that He would come back again,
To receive us in His Heavenly place.
We can all be together with Him.

What a glorious time for all the Christians,
When we will see Him face to face.
We have our hope and looking for Him.
We will thank Him for His mercy and grace.

THE GLORY OF GOD

The heavens ascribe to the glory of God.
His handiwork we behold each day.
The articulate artist, His brush in hand
Paints a landscape and skyscape display.

Only a fool says, "There is no God",
We see His blessed works as time goes by,
There is no art without an artist, you know
Come and behold the wondrous evening sky!

Do you not see His presence in such beauty?
He gives to us each day to realize,
That behind this masterpiece you're viewing,
Our God has greater beauty awaiting, beyond the skies!
