Why should you think that now, in this place and situation? You cannot solve any problem while you hold it in your hands. Christ allowed Satan to sift Peter like wheat, Why did he allow that? Because Peter apparently had some things that needed sifting. Christ never allows Satan a sieve unless the object (me) could use a sieve. Imagine Christ saying: “You can either let me prune you, or I can use the devil to scare it out of you.” Satan knows his time is short.
